INGREDIENTS: This tasty drink can be served hot or cold. It is made of the finest yellow corn flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, salt, sugar, water, vanilla flavor, and evaporated milk, coconut milk. (other: Vitamins, Dipotassium phosphate, cartagena)
PREPARATIONS
Measured Ingredients
▢ 4-5 cups water (946ml)
▢ 3-4 star anise
▢ 3 cinnamon sticks
▢ 2 cup yellow corn flour + 2¼ cup of water (to make the paste)
▢ ½-¾ cup almond milk or you can use another plant based milk
▢ 3 teaspoon vanilla extract (4g)
▢ ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (0.5g)grated
▢ ¼ teaspoon pink salt (1.5g)
▢ sweeten with coconut sugar, to taste or use another alternative sweetener, see notes
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS
Mix the ingredients of each one cup of cornflour together with the 1 1⁄4 cup of water.
Boil water with the cinnamon sticks and star anise for 8 minutes or until extracted by smelling and the water becoming slightly red-brown colour.
Pouring the mixture of cornflour into the boiling water, reduce the heat to medium-low to avoid any lumps.
Continuously stir until the akasan becomes thickened up.
Add milk, coconut, sugar, then stir for 5 minutes and cover it with low fire.
Add the vanilla flavor, nutmeg and pink salt.
